In order to control the level of humidity in my Aquaponics Greenhouse I collected several computer fans that I had obtained throughout the years and placed them inside a custom housing made from a plastic cat-litter container. The main reasons for using the containers is because they are cheap, I have a constant supply to them, they are easy to manipulate, and they have handles that allows them to easily be hung from the structural rods at the top level in the Greenhouse. Aside from those reasons I also get a kick out of utilizing something considered by many to be worthless and it is ridiculous enough for me to find amusing.
The basic procedure was to cut out a section very close to the size and shape of the fans and then glue them into place.
Once glued in in place I ran the wires through the cap of the container with the intention of using the wires themselves with some hot glue reinforcement to support load of the hanging container and fan inside the greenhouse.
I got a little carried away with the hot glue on this one but the goal to hang the fan from its wires without pulling the wires out of fan and also to allow for some waterproofing on the leads themselves in hopes that if water did form on top it would avoid the contacts to the coils.
The end results:
